SeniorBridge's Susan Fleischer Named President of The National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers

Families caring for older adults need help navigating the medical, emotional, financial and personal complexities of aging, but often are unsure to whom to turn for help. For the last 26 years, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) has been the most trusted source for these families helping them to connect with licensed, specially trained social workers, nurses and other professionals who could meet their needs.
This year, NAPGCM recognized the leadership and expertise of SeniorBridge's Susan Fleischer and elected her as President of the organization. This election built on SeniorBridge's heritage of leadership in the industry.

"I am honored to lead my peers in elevating the level of clinical service and expertise of care managers across the country," said Susan Fleischer, LCSW, MSSW, ACSW, CMC, CSW-G, CSWM, CMFSW, Executive Director of SeniorBridge's Care Management Network. "My goal is to help more families connect with the best care managers in the industry in order to identify their options and receive the holistic approach to care they need and deserve."

Susan has served at SeniorBridge for close to three years and is a pioneer in the field who frequently speaks at conferences and to the press. In addition to a Master of Science in Social Work, she is also a Certified Master Forensic Social Worker (CMFSW) savvy with the legal complexities families face. Among other previous roles, Susan served for over ten years as the Chief Operating Officer of Rona Bartelstone Associates. Susan states that she named Rona Bartelstone the "Queen Mom" of Care Management. She also has worked as the Department Director of Geriatric Services at Jewish Family and Children's Service of West Palm Beach, Florida, was director of a federal home health aide program and was the Social Service Director of Four Courts Nursing Home in Nashville, Tennessee.

The NAPGCM has long recognized SeniorBridge leaders as best in the industry by electing SeniorBridge professionals to local and national leadership positions. In fact, SeniorBridge's Rona Bartelstone, Senior Vice President of Care Management, was one of the founding members of the organization. SeniorBridge Chief Professional Officer, Claudia Fine in New York, and Karen Knutson, Professional Development Specialist in North Carolina, have served as past Presidents, and SeniorBridge's Professional Development Specialist in Jupiter, Florida, Deborah Barfield, is a past board member. Regionally, SeniorBridge's Linda Cramer is President of Florida's local chapter, and Marcie Cooper is a past Chapter President in New Jersey.

NAPGCM has grown from 50 members in 1986 to over 2,000 in 2006 and carries on to meet the ever-changing demands of the eldercare environment through strategic planning, marketing, public relations, education and communication with its members and the public.

In her role at SeniorBridge, Susan directs the company's national network of over 1,000 of the best care management practitioners who provide care management services nationwide. All SeniorBridge Care Managers adhere to our rigorous requirements for professional training, prior on-the-job experience, licensing, insurance and meet our standards for excellence in the field of geriatric care management.
